When motorsports powerhouse Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) brought GAME READY on board as its Official Recovery Partner, the 2024 NTT INDYCAR SERIES was already well underway. This presented a unique opportunity to see the benefits of GAME READY solutions working in real time.

High-performance auto racing takes a physical toll, not just on the drivers, but on mechanics, pit crew—even managers and support staff. To add to the strain, the INDYCAR SERIES is compressed into a tight schedule each year, with races nearly every weekend from early March through August/early September.

“GAME READY allows the individual to take their recovery into their own hands at the shop, track, or at home,” said Jason Morgan, an athletic trainer at Ascension St. Vincent Sports Performance, whose specialists work with CGR. “Having GAME READY as a trusted partner has directly improved performance on the human side of racing.”

On the Road to Victory

With GAME READY on hand, drivers and crew started to see positive effects in post-training and post-race recovery almost right away. Everyone on the team has benefited.

“The GAME READY units have been a vital therapeutic tool that has helped aid in our crew’s recovery from the injuries and the unique physical demands of motorsports,” said Will Plummer, CGR’s Head Human Performance Trainer.

The drivers and crew easily incorporated GAME READY into their recovery routines during the season, and it continues to be part of their maintenance and training in the run-up to the 2025 series.

Everyone’s Part of the Team

True to CGR’s motto, “One Team, One Goal,” CGR held a Wellness Fair for all employees in October 2024, featuring a host of wellness solutions and support. Of course, GAME READY was part of the fair, with an Avanos representative offering information about the device. After all, people who aren’t professional athletes may want to ask their doctor about GAME READY for injury or post-op recovery.

Both CGR and GAME READY agree: the most successful teams make sure every team member has the resources to perform at their best.

Driven to Perform

In 2025, the team at GAME READY is looking forward to its first full INDYCAR SERIES as Official Recovery Partner to CGR. And it’s already shaping up to be an exciting one.

Since it was founded in 1990, CGR has clinched 16 INDYCAR championship titles, more than any other INDYCAR team during the same period. CGR’s top two drivers alone share an impressive nine titles. And for the first time in 10 years, CGR will also be racing in INDY NXT, a series for up-and-coming drivers looking to make their mark.

Before and after each race, wherever they are, CGR crews can rely on GAME READY to be there, supporting effective recovery so drivers, crew, and staff can do what they do best.

“In racing, you’re always looking for gains in performance on track,” said Plummer, CGR’s Head Human Performance Trainer, “and GAME READY provides our crew with the opportunity to be at their peak performance.”
